Position: Junior Web Developer 
Location: Newbury (RG14) - hybrid 
Salary: £24,000 per annum 
Hours: Monday – Friday (09:00 – 18:00)

Opportunity:      

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a purposeful business and charity who inspire young people to volunteer overseas. They are looking to recruit an intelligent, passionate and creative Junior Web Developer to join their internal IT team, based in Newbury. 

Day-to-day, this Junior Web Developer position will involve working across multiple websites to increase traffic and improve customer response systems. This role will not be a mix of but not limited to building landing pages, looking into SEO, improving user interface and experience, assisting the IT Analyst with cyber-security measures and also building new sites in the future. 

This position will report directly to the Group Operations Manager and IT Analyst, therefore the successful candidate should be confident to bring ideas to the table and have experience with web development previously, whether that be at university, through freelance work, or as a hobby. 

This position would be well-suited to a tech-savvy graduate who is looking to develop a long-term career in web development, or a self-taught candidate looking to take a step into this career.

Requirements:      

• Experience with web development, whether that be through previous employment or university (experience with WordPress would be an advantage) 

• Exceptional organisation skills and the ability to manage own diary 

• A confident and proactive candidate with the ability to think outside the box to come up with creative solutions 

• Exceptional spelling and grammar with high attention to detail 

• The ability to manage multiple sites/projects at one time
