Cedar is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a local authority based in London in their DDaT division. The purpose of the role will be to lead business analysis activities across one of the directorates and help services prioritise development and improvements.

Daily Rate: £300 - £350 per day Inside IR35

Working Pattern: 2-3 days in the office

Location: London

Duties

  • Responsible for all analysis undertaken throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Work with others to refine research plans and analysis and act on data gathered.
  • Use data to ensure services are accessible, intuitive, and simple.
  • Build and execute research and data gathering plans to help understand user needs.
  • Undertake research with end users, including internal users and translate user need into user stories.
  • Work with other team members to move stories through a backlog and contribute to product vision and the scope of MVPs and value release.
  • Visualise current and future processes and service journeys using business process modelling techniques to quantify process steps and pain points and prioritise transformation for development and agree product scope.
  • Lead investigations into service gaps and friction and make recommendations for service improvement.
  • Engage Environment and Neighbourhoods (E&N) Directorate using the business analyst's skill set, to help articulate the possibilities in their area for digital transformation.

Skills / Experience

  • Experience of working as a Business Analyst alongside Environment or Public Realm directorates within a Local Authority.
  • Proven application of agile ways of working and software development practices.
  • Successful track record of working in multidisciplinary teams to deliver digital products using agile methodology.
  • Previously built and executed a backlog, translating user needs into user stories.
  • Ability to visualise service journeys; map current and future processes, to quantify steps and pain points, and to prioritise development as well as agree product scope.
  • Successfully led investigations into service gaps and friction and made recommendations for service improvement.
  • Gathered, distilled, and simplify large amounts of data, judging what is and isn't important and wrote reports.
