DevOps Engineer - Global Consultancy - AWS, Azure, GCP
Manchester - Onsite/Hybrid (first 6 months onsite) - £40,000 - £70,000
Applause IT are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a global IT Consultancy firm based in Manchester. As a DevOps Engineer you will play a vital role in contributing to client projects and open source initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess expertise in AWS and ideally Azure and GCP as the organisation work across all 3 platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with development teams to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to rigorous quality standards.
- Develop and deploy continuous integration and delivery pipelines to streamline the software delivery process.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to uphold high levels of availability and reliability.
- Implement and uphold stringent security measures to safeguard systems and data.
- Collaborate with the team to establish and enforce best practices for infrastructure and automation tools, such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Immutable Infrastructure.
- Engage in design, development, and code reviews to maintain code quality and promote team collaboration.
- Keep abreast of emerging DevOps trends and technologies to continuously improve processes and tools.
The ideal DevOps Engineer will have experience in:
- Working with free and open source software (FOSS)
- Linux, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, Rust
- Cloud Services: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
- Configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet
- Server templating tools: Packer, Vagrant, Docker/Podman
- Orchestration tools: Kubernetes, Nomad
- Provisioning tools: Terraform, Pulumi
- CI/CD Systems: GitLab CI, GitHub actions
- Security best practices
