About the role

As a Product Business Analyst you are responsible for conducting research and gathering requirements for product changes. You are key to the innovation of our offerings, and support product managers to create a go to market strategy, ensuring that we deliver the right product to the right customer at the right time.  Your support helps Product Managers prioritise new solutions in the development backlog balancing with compliance priorities. As a result of this, the products or set of features in a product achieve high customer NPS, appropriately high usage, easy delivery of compliance in new changes and low support tickets leading in turn to low customer churn and strong new sales.

In this role your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct and produce research which:
  • Analyses data, processes, system developments, customer needs etc
  • Draws sensible findings, recommendations and/or solutions
  • Links to and drives business outcomes – e.g. assists in improving or automating a process, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimising systems, improving the customer experience, encouraging adoption of best practice and/or assists prioritisation of development
  • Provides insight on prioritisation of features against backlog
  • Presents findings including data and processes in a visual and easy to understand way
  • Communicate with internal colleagues to understand and complete analysis in relation to research requirements. Internal key stakeholders might include product managers, customer service teams, and business operational teams.
  • Participate in workshops, meetings, and presentations to gather requirements, provide updates, and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Develop release notes, user guides, in product help and knowledgebase materials.  
  • Develop acceptance criteria for agreed user stories, and support QA in understanding requirements in order that the QA team can develop and execute test plans which ensure solution meets business needs.
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation and the associated impact on our payroll engine, ResourceLink. In addition, understand our areas of strategic advantage.

  • Have a flair for payroll & HR legislation
  • Have a passion to automate and remove manual processes
  • Have a meticulous nature for documentation and research
  • Persistent in bringing strong evidence, with clear communication and influence to mobilise Zellis to deliver great solutions to customer needs
  • Be a self-starter and a highly motivated individual who takes end to end responsibility for the completion of required work
  • Have a passion for solving business and customer needs
  • A creative force yourself, but equally, facilitate a creative dialog and stimulate others
  • Ability to build strong relationships within Zellis, external forums and the customer community
  • Bring a growth mindset to the team challenging colleagues and being open to learning from others
  • Smart and restlessly curious to learn new legislation, products, technology and business processes
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills 

Knowledge/Experience: 

  • Prior experience working in a business or data analysis role
  • Experience working in digital software industry, specifically HR and payroll industry experience would be advantageous
  • Experience working alongside product management teams across an end to end product cycle
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting research and analysis and communicating findings with impact.
  • Experience of payroll applications and/or payroll legislation would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • CIPP/CIPD qualification would be beneficial but not essentialz|AS
