Senior Product Owner

2-year contract

Inside IR35 - £700 per day

Greenwich, London - 2 days per week onsite

We are hiring for a Senior Product Owner for a large transportation organisation based in London to work on the expansion of their pay as you go network which will generate an extra 750k taps per day.

The Senior Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring that the development work in their Product Area is effectively prepared, scheduled and managed to meet the overall Product Goals and deadlines set by the Product Owner Lead. You will also have additional responsibilities for ensuring that your Product Area scope is effectively controlled to meet the defined MVP, the product strategy as set by the Product Owner Lead, and the project deadlines, ensuring that they can deliver the full agreed scope of their Product Area by the development complete deadline.

The ideal candidate should have the following key knowledge:

  • Senior Product Owner experience of at least 5 years gained while working on complex and challenging £multi-million technology programmes.
  • Effective communication with non-technical stakeholders about complex technical concepts to effectively define and prioritise the features, refine the scope, and collect the story requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong experience of backlog development and gathering feedback on the product in an agile environment, including gathering requirements from stakeholders and developing these into effective user stories, demonstrating delivered functionality and gathering feedback from stakeholders, and ensuring this feedback is incorporated into the product by developing the backlog further.
  • Innovation is key within this programme and the role would suit someone that is able to continually assess and improve product processes within their teams, product areas, and on the wider programme to enhance the efficiency and quality of product development, agile practise, and product strategy.
  • Practised at managing their personal development as a Product Owner and keeping up to date with industry trends, agile methodology and improvement opportunities.
  • Previous experience of mentoring and supporting other Product Owners and team members, enabling effective product knowledge transfer and onboarding of new team members.
  • Experience working within the transport industry with focus on journey construction, fares and payments.

Technical requirements:

  • Data Analysis
  • Experience with data management systems
  • Experience building high transactional systems
  • Experience implementing systems using Azure Technologies (Storage, Service Bus, Functions)
  • Knowledge around PCI Compliant Payment solutions

Bonus requirements:

  • Experience in Smart Ticketing & Payments
  • Rail or travel industry experience

Contract Details:

This is an inside IR35 contract role, offering competitive remuneration of approximately £700 per day via an Umbrella company.
